Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer with Nourish Pierce County. Volunteers are at the heart of our mission to provide nutritious food and support to people in need across Pierce County.

At Nourish, we believe every guest deserves to be treated with compassion, dignity, and respect. Many of our guests face challenges such as language barriers, disabilities, cultural differences, or the stress of not having enough resources. As a volunteer, you will play an important role in ensuring they feel welcome and supported.

This is active, physical work that often involves lifting, standing, and moving for extended periods. Our volunteers also use computers and phone apps to help with scheduling, record-keeping, and communication. We rely on volunteers to be dependable, adaptable, and professional in every interaction.

Application Timeline - What to Expect

1. Apply online
2. Wait for background check to be completed - 2-3 business days
3. Register for interview time once invited & attend interview
4. If invited after interview, register for online orientation & attend orientation
5. Attend first shift training and onsite orientation

Requirements to volunteer:

• Be 17 years old or over
• Be 14-16 years old and volunteer alongsideide your registered parent or guardian
• Be in good physical shape - this is an active volunteer position
• Successfully pass a Washington State Patrol WATCH background check
• Complete our volunteer waiver and civil rights training
• Attend an hour-long Nourish volunteer orientation online
