As a food bank volunteer, you directly contribute to our mission of providing nutritious food to people in need with compassion, dignity, and respect. Volunteering with Nourish Pierce County is a great way to meet new people, serve an immediate need in the community, and have some fun! Nourish Food Bank prep shifts are very labor intensive, requiring volunteers to be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting, loading and unloading, and standing for long periods, up to several hours. For safety and liability reasons, Nourish reserves the right to decline volunteers who cannot meet the physical requirements of the position. This means that Nourish may not have suitable volunteer work for all people who are interested in volunteering.
